Market closures in December & January 2021/22

The holiday trading season is upon us and with that comes some disruption to the markets normal trading hours.

It is highly recommended to make sure that you know when the market will be open or closed.

Here are some important details you should be aware of before trading during this holiday season.

  • Christmas day and boxing day fall on Saturday and Sunday, so these days will not disrupt the markets normal trading hours.
  • Precious metals, stocks and most indices markets will be closed or disrupted on Christmas eve, which falls on a Friday.
  • Precious metals and indices markets trading times will be disrupted on New Years eve, which also falls on a Friday.

Markets can be volatile when they open again following the days that are a public holiday.
